In 2022, Marcus Isaiah achieved a significant milestone by launching THE BLKR THE BERRY (BLKR), Washington DC's premier black-owned pop-up marketplace. Our core mission is to bolster the financial stability of Black families in the Washington Metro area, with a particular focus on important cultural holidays like Black History Month, Juneteenth, Kwanzaa + Black Friday. We accomplish this by meticulously curating immersive pop-up experiences that cater to individuals from diverse backgrounds during these significant occasions. At the heart of our mission lies the promotion of reinvesting and circulating wealth within the Black community.

At BLKR, we are dedicated to empowering the growth and prosperity of Black-owned businesses. Our mission is to nurture creative environments, offer a platform for emerging entrepreneurs, and actively champion innovative products and services. According to a study conducted by Black Star*, it was revealed that the Black community holds an estimated $1.3 trillion in gross national income. Remarkably, a mere two percent of this income is reinvested within our community. In response to this disparity, we encourage consumers from all walks of life to embrace conscious spending during special occasions.
